Finally, my home away from home - Lake Powell. My favorite place to be!

Last but not least I thought I would share how spoiled Julian was at the Airport on our way home. Cute but spoiled!

I think that this California trip was the best one so far. We had so much fun as a family and all got along.

As always, wherever we go we bring the cold weather. This is at the end of the day on the beach trying to keep warm.

The Family on the beach -

Julian

Emery

Cordell

Callen
All of our kids wanted to Body Surf while we were there so here they are riding the waves!

Our kids found tons of sand crabs and they are gross little things. Here is one of them and they are under the sand on the beach's EWE YUCK! No wonder I am a Lake person rather than an Ocean person.

Here is Boyce in his homemade beach chair relaxing and watching the kids do their thing

While we were down there we of course had to go to the beach. We ended up going to Huntington Beach and it was a very nice beach. The kids were so excited to go there I think that was the highlight of their trip. We took a bike ride along the beach in a bikecar?? We all were able to pedal so nobody (but Julian) got to just sit there. It was fun and man did we get our exercise!

We got to ride the new Toy Story ride at Disneyland and it was pretty cool. Here are the kids in line for it with their 3D glasses on.

I am a huge Pirates of the Caribbean fan and love Jack Sparrow (because of Johnny Depp of course) but here is my own little Jack Sparrow and I would take him over Johnny Depp any day.

The kids really liked the Mummy ride and the Simpson's ride but here is a picture of them on the Jurassic Park ride. They rode this quite a bit.

We went to a haunted house walk through and shouldn't have. Our kids were so scared and Boyce couldn't stop laughing at the whole situation. Boyce said the it was probably the scariest he has been to since he was boy but what I want to know is why did the workers let us take our 4 year old in there! We did most of the shows and Emery even got to help out at the Animal show and did great!

Next stop on our trip was Universal Studios. It was so nice because it was overcast and there was no lines! We had a lot of fun. The terminator ride/show was cool, the kids really liked it. Here they are with their dad fighting the big bad robots!

Julian dug the little Lego cars because they gave him his own license and he was pumped!

It was cool to see all the stuff they have built with Lego's. My favorite there was a walkway full of all the cities they replicated using Lego's.

Next thing we did was headed to Lego Land. I had never been there so I was excited to see it.

I had never been to the San Diego Zoo so we hit that next. It was neat to see. We saw a baby Koala Bear and was able to feed the Giraffes which was so cool.

Next we head to California. In June the family took the trip to California to do the Disneyland thing. We decided to visit San Diego also while we were down there. We hit San Diego first and ate on the pier. We actually ate at the restaurant that Boyce and his family ate at when he was 11 which was the last vacation he had with his father. I was very happy that the kids and I were able to go there with Boyce.

School's out for summer and Cordell had another school swim party.

At the festival they had a whole bunch of booths with things you could buy. They also had games and bouncies for the kids. Julian decided that he wanted to do the bungee jump. He did pretty good until the guy sprung him forward then he was a little unsure. He did have a lot of fun but decided he didn't want to do it again.

When we were down in Moab we went to the Art's Festival in downtown Moab. This is a picture of all the kids on a rock in the park at the Festival.

Here is a picture of Rob, Andrea and Max on the hike.

Okay, I know it has been a long time since I have updated my blog and I am sorry for that. We have had some camera issues and time issues. We left off around Easter and after that we went to Moab with our friends Rob and Andrea on Memorial Day. We had a blast! We stayed at Andrea's mom's house and though it was cold some of the days we did do some 4-wheeling and hiking.

Boyce took Callen and Julian golfing for the first time. He said they had lots of fun and that Julian dug the golf cart!

In one of the All Star games Cordell took a ball to the face. He was wearing his glasses which may have helped a little. He stayed in the game and toughed it out.

Boyce offered to coach the All star team for 11yr olds. He did a good job as always.

Trophies! yeah

Baseball is back!

Here is a picture of a boat we thought was way cool -

Here is Julian and Cambria with Bianca the dog between them for a ride on the lake.

The kids had a blast playing with Heidi's kids on the beach. We brought some sand toys and they played for hours on the beach.

We stopped in at a marina to get a drink and watch the kids play on the beach for a few. Here is Kevin with his wife Heidi after they had a few drinks.

We met our friends Kevin and Heidi down there and Heidi brought her dog Bianca with her, even on the wave runner. Heidi says she loves to travel with them and do all sorts of things.

This is a picture of the "London Bridge" and the lake goes under it and on both sides are restaurants and shops. It is really a cool place to hang!

We decided to take our family to Lake Havasu over Easter Weekend. I had never been so I was excited to go. I love Arizona anyway and to be able to boat there was even better. However when we got there we must have brought all the "Utah" weather with us so it was kind of chilly for my liking but we pressed on and had a great time.

Cordell turns Ten!! wow another birthday at the Sandersons. Cordell chose to go to Boondocks for his birthday and of course we all had fun.

Time for the Pine Wood Derby with the scouts. This year Boyce and I were more involved because in December we became Den leaders for the Weeblos. Boyce did a wonderful job on Cordell's derby car and we went from fourth place (last year) to second place. Boyce can't wait for next year!

Callen turns Twelve!! Holy banana's I can't believe that the kids are getting older. He wanted to go to a trampoline place called Jump on it. Everyone had a blast there.

So! My wonderful husband whisked me away for the weekend to go see some friends in Kentucky and while we were there he surprised me by taking me to the Nickelback concert! If you don't know me then I will just say they are my favorite band of all time! We have seen Nickelback in concert 4 times now. They came with Saving Able and Seether (another amazing group). The concert was so Great - the BEST concert yet. Boyce arranged for us to go backstage and meet the band, get a picture with them and got us awesome seats. So awesome that Seether was rocking out right next to us during Nickelbacks performance! All I can say is WOW!

The Sandersons can't get away from the sports thing. Cordell missed soccer in the fall because of football so we signed him up for indoor soccer. Julian also wanted to play so we signed him up as well. I think both of them had a lot of fun and Julian was so excited about the trophy he got at the end of the season. he said that it was because he "made a goal" how cute!

As I mentioned earlier, everyone was having a blast Ice Skating until Cordell's face landed on the Ice. His tooth went straight through his lip. Cordell and I spent the rest of that evening at Primary Children's getting 8 stitches. He was really brave and didn't cry at all.

Emery turns Nine!! Everyone is growing up way too fast. Emery wanted to go Ice Skating for her birthday so we went to the Gallivan Center for a night of Ice Skating with the family. Everyone really enjoyed themselves.

The Alabama fans couldn't take it and started leaving in the 4th quarter with about 7 minutes left. Anyways the Utes went undefeated (13-0) and went home the champions of the Sugar Bowl. Never underestimate heart and desire!

The game was amazing! Best sporting event I have ever been to. The fans were so supportive and even though we only had 1/4 of the stadium I couldn't help but think we were the loudest. The Alabama fans were all cool and had some unusually ways of showing their school pride. Fortunately for us we rolled that TIDE!

I don't know if you have heard the story behind all the beads in New Orleans or how one would obtain them but if you do you can appreciate how Boyce had all of them and I had none.
